This is a cop out, but hopefully an entertaining one. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so hopefully a video is worth at least a blog post.
You heard it here first people: chemo sucks. As I near the end of Week 2, Cycle 2, I can tell you with complete honesty that it really is pretty unpleasant. That is, of course, just speaking for myself and my personal Carbo/Taxol cocktail. I have now had the delightful luck to become allergic to the Taxol, so I had a very exciting reaction during my last chemo session, resulting in being very much the centre of attention for a little while (typical second child), and being in hospital from 11:30 until 9:00 pm. The lights genuinely turned off around us.
We have also had a repeat of our A & E trip to Chelsea and Westminster during this cycle – another high temperature meant we didn’t have a choice. Fortunately they are very friendly there so it wasn’t too bad and I managed to have all the tests and be out the same day. How else would you want to spend a sunny Tuesday, anyway?!
So, amongst all of this junk, I thought it would be pleasant to look back on something more light hearted. My boyfriend just stumbled upon this charming video from a little while ago which I thought I’d share with you.
I don’t think there’s much need for introduction. This was during a day at the Royal Marsden a few weeks before my rediagnosis. We had some spare time and popped down to Made in Chelsea favourite Brompton Food Market for a coffee. Well, it seemed like a good idea, but perhaps this shows that I really can’t be taken anywhere. Enjoy!
